A New Generation of Toyota Lean Burn Engine

Enlargement of lean air fuel mixture operation and NOx reduction are required to realize lean burn engines. A newly designed lean burn engine, which features new swirl intake port and new lean air fuel mixture feedback control system employing lean mixture sensor or combustion pressure sensor, successfully solved these tasks and meets European and Japanese emission standards, respectively.
