Abstract
The air quality analysis of occupied compartments is of greate interest in aircraft where the air renewal depends on the functioning of several sytems which a failure can develop a hazardous situation. To perform such failure analysis it is necessary to know the ambient gases concetration in relation to time in order to define the failure effect criticality.
A method to determine the air degrade in aircraft occupied compartments was developed. This analysis is based on the solution of the transient mass conservation equation over the control volume, where people is treated as sources and sinks of the respiratory process gases. The air inflow/outflow as well as temperuture and altitude are also considered.
