Abstract
1
Acrylic rubber(ACM) oil seals have been often used owing to such desirable features as the heat resistance, oil resistance, cost, etc. In recent years, however, the extension of oil seal service life is urged, despite the fact that the oil seal operating environment is becoming increasingly severe due to the elevated temperatures in use. In order to solve this problem, the heat resistance of material of oil seal has been increased and the oil seal design has been modified. As a result, a new oil seal with the service life twice or more longer than that of ACM oil seals has been developed.
This paper describes the effectiveness of the new oil seal, based on the results of experiments.
