Abstract
The noticeable reduction achieved in the overall sound pressure
levels inside cars have shifted the attention of automotive
industry researchers towards more subtle aspects of
"quality" of the noise perceived inside the passenger
compartment of a vehicle.
At fixed OASPL "sound quality" becomes indeed an
important discriminate factor for the customer searching for a
pleasant car.
The paper deals with some possible interaction mechanisms
correlating subjective acoustic evaluations and experimental
settings, illustrated by an example in which an experiment, aimed
to the detection of environmental conditioning of the subjective
judgement of "realism" of some sound reproductions, is
described.
