Abstract
Performance study of water-ammonia absorption cycle having a heat recovery absorber (HRA) and economic analyses of the sources of energy, used to operate it, have been carried out to optimize its generator temperatures. Advantage of using the HRA has been shown through results of the system without HRA. A typical result reveals that, for the absorber-condenser temperatures of about 30°C and evaporator temperature equal to -25 °C, COP of the heat recovery system may increase upto 10%; while the operating cost, on the other hand, would get reduced to about 8-10%. The analyses has been repeated for a wide range of the operating conditions and the results, exhibited graphically.
