Ride Comfort Improvement Using Preview Sensor
Published September 14, 1992 by Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan in Japan
Ride comfort improvement against impulse force from a road is discussed. It has been theoretically proved that an immediate control of suspension characteristics such as damping and spring rate can improve the ride comfort against impulse force. But time lag in changing suspension characteristics of actual suspension control systems decrease effect of changing the characteristics. To solve the problem, preview control with program control for changing the suspension damping has been developed and achieved improvement of the ride comfort.
