Recently, active noise reduction technology has been in the limelight to enable it to make low weight vehicles compatible with low noise levels. In order for this new technology to replace current ones, it is required to sufficiently reduce all engine related noises at each passenger position. We have developed a multi-channel active noise control system to lower engine related noises in a passenger car. This system's attenuation capability is believed to be sufficient enough to replace current passive noise reduction methods. This paper focuses on the effects of the number of secondary sources on attenuation characteristics
