Indoor Test of Ice and Snow Tires-Part 8 on the Correlation Between Surface Resistivity of Ice and Tire Characteristics on Ice

Surface resistivity of ice and tire characteristics on ice has been measured under various ice conditions. Temperature of ice, ice crystal size and concentration of impurities in ice were varied to change friction coefficient of tire on ice. Result shows that the surface resistivity of ice can be used as a scale for frictional characteristics of ice.
