Torque Estimating Method for Automatic Transmission and the Application Control

This paper discusses the features and accuracy of methods, including sensor positions, for detecting torque signals. These signals, along with engine revolution and accelerator pedal position, are important for controlling automatic transmission. By using the torque signals to control the line pressure during gear shifting, non-gear-shifting and engine torque reduction, we successfully improved shift quality and enhanced fuel economy.
