Characteristics of An Electronic Pump-Pipe-Injector System With Electromagnetic Spill Control
Published April 14, 1992 by Institution of Mechanical Engineers in United Kingdom
A new type of electronic pump-pipe-injector diesel fuel injection system with electromagnetic spill control was developed recently. In this paper, the characteristics of this system are discussed. First, the basic features of the new system are introduced. Then, through a simulation study under high pressure injection conditions, the effects of removing the delivery valve on injection characteristics are investigated, the special hydraulic regulating principle of the system on the initial injection pressure and the high pressure fuel unloading are illustrated, and the influence of the control valve location on system performance are analyzed. Finally, the response characteristics of the control valve are examined through a combined experimental and simulative study.
