Abstract
In this study two controllers are proposed assuming that information is transmitted among vehicles in sequence. In order to prove the advantage of feedback information redundancy, a system controller using headway and relative closing speed information is compared to that using headway only. The latter is proven to be inferior to the former and produced unstable response in terms of headway error. It is shown that the combination of control gain could generate the exclusive domains defined as (1) unstable (2) stable but uncomfortable (3) stable and comfortable ride.
