Abstract
In 1975, the Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) was established in western Canada. The mandate was to improve the design, and aid in the selection and use of farm machinery. To date, over 1,500 projects have been conducted and 650 machinery evaluation reports have been published. Although the initial mandate still applies, the specific services delivered by PAMI have evolved with the new priorities of the '90s. This paper explains the transition.
