Abstract
A new development approach for trucks is necessary to reduce program time, increase the design confidence level and obtain customer oriented products. Several engineering disciplines (QFD, SE, DFA, DFM, CAD, CAE, FMEA, etc) were used during the Advanced Engineering phase, in order to define a completely new truck from a white sheet of paper till the Job #1, with an engineering prototype ready for final development and durability testing at the end of the advanced program phase.
