Abstract
Systems which allow an operator to easily adjust vehicle tire pressures for the conditions encountered (Central Tire Inflation Systems) have been developed primarily as means to improve vehicle mobility performance. It has been found that the benefits of using such systems however, can go far beyond mobility. This paper discusses the effects of adjustable tire pressure operation on overall vehicle performance and its possible impact on future vehicle design.
