Abstract
DI and IDI diesel engine was tested to determine the effect of fuel sulfur and aromatics on exhaust emissions. The test fuels were blended using four components, high-sulfur fuel, low-sulfur fuel, light cycle oil (LCO), and kerosene. Particulate emissions were reduced by reductions in fuel sulfur. Fuel aromatics showed significant effects for particulate and NOx emissions.
