Abstract
A total carbon analyzer having catalytic oxidization furnace and
NDIR detector has been developed to measure diesel particulate
without dilution tunnel and microbalance method. Particulate
collected on the quartz filter is oxidized in the small volume
furance fed by oxygen, thereby drysoot and SOF are converted to CO2
quickly. Emission rate of carbon calculated from the CO2
concentration and carrier gas (O2) flow rate.
Test results of this system corresponded with that of
microbalance method with and without dilution tunnel.
