Abstract
An electronic draft control system has been developed by Ford New Holland to replace the previous mechanical draft control system on the model 8210 agricultural tractor. The electronic draft control system provides many advantages over the mechanical approach: improved performance, enhanced operator control features, diagnostics, and failure management. The development process required the integration of many different systems including hydraulics, electronics, software, operator controls, sensors, and manufacturing.
