Abstract
A new parellel flow type condenser (PF™) (1)* for vehicular applications has been developed which shows considerable promise in improving the performance of the vehicular air conditioning systems, improving the engine cooling capacity of the radiator and in reducing refrigerant usage.
This new type of condenser which has a different structure from the round-tube and plate-fin or the serpentine condenser, consists of multi-flow refrigerant tubes. The PF condenser offers higher heat transfer, lower air side pressure losses and lower refrigerant side pressure losses. It has been used in the automotive market since 1987.
