Abstract
A unique process has been developed for the manufacturing of aluminum manifolds for use in fuel, hydraulic, and various other applications. This process consists of a combination of extrusion, cold forging and back extrusion operations by which a complete manifold is produced requiring little or no machining. The manufacturing process, design criteria and test results will be presented. A review of current and potential manifold applications using this process will conclude this paper.
