Abstract
The thermal diffusivity was found for combustion chamber deposits grown for a period of 50 hours using a simulated driving cycle. The diffusivity was determined at several locations around the combustion chamber with a laser flash method. Thermal diffusivities varied from 0.59E-7 to 3.39E-7 m2/s; this variation accompanied variations in the physical appearance, substrate temperature and thickness of the deposits over the combustion chamber surface. The flash technique proved insensitive to thermal conductivity of the deposits.
