Abstract
The development in heavy trucks leads to continually higher engine power as well as to a reduction in the fuel consumption of the vehicle. The measures applied have effects on the layout of the clutch and the dampening of the torsional vibrations. For the next vehicle generation the introduction of the electronic driveline management is expected. For this purpose the Electronic Clutch System has been developed. The automatic clutch actuation as a part of this system can be used as a stand-alone installation for the improvement of driver's comfort.
