Abstract
With the onset of higher power Nd:YAG lasers in the kilowatt or higher range, new applications are now possible with this type of laser. In addition to discussing applications about drilling, which have been accepted in the aerospace industry for years, this paper will cover new applications in cutting, scribing, and welding. The capabilities of these high power lasers will be covered along with examples of current applications.
