Abstract
Competitive demand requiring shortened development times and low cost mean that durability assessment must be an earlier part of the engineering design cycle. This requires more focused use of existing computer hardware, software and networking tools. This paper outlines available and emerging computer-based technologies and their application to assess and improve vehicle structural durability.
