Abstract
This paper present variety of method for obtaining position and heading of automobile. All of thee use laser beam transmitter and receiver units.
First method use laser transmitter and receiver units on the vehicle and corner cubes set on road way side.
Second method use the laser scanning fan beam units on the vehicle and the corner cubes on upper side.
Third method use the laser beam transmitter on road way side and the receivers on the vehicle.
Experimental results for three proposed methods using automobile show that these methods can be applicable for accurate compensation of errors caused by dead-reckoning positioning method introduced by digital differential odometry.
