Abstract
Cold forming of polymeric materials is receiving increasing
attention in the manufacturing industry. This fabrication procedure
is very broad in scope and includes a number of forming processes,
such as forging, impact extrusion, stamping and hydrostatic
extrusion.
In this context, an experimental work was performed to study the
effect of high pressure on the deformation behavior of polymeric
materials as related to cold formability of polymers.
This study result indicates that application of a superimposed
hydrostatic pressure during deformation of semi- crystalline
polymer affects significantly drawability and stress crazing and
whitening of polymeric materials.
