Abstract
The Chinese National Standard for Emission from Vehicles was published in 1983. The most important one is “Emission Standards for Pollutants at Idle Speed from Road Vehicles with Petrol Engines”. Five years have passed and there have been many experiences gained and lessons learned.
No doubt, it is very helpful to the coming work to sum up these experiences and lessons, and point out a reasonable technical line and policy in emission control for vehicles with petrol engines.
The lessons will be helpful not only for our own country, but perhaps for other developing countries.
