Abstract
The vehicle operators A/C needs are related to design features to develop the first Quality Function Deployment Chart: The House of Quality. The design features from the House of Quality are then used with a matrix Concept Selection Technique to evaluate the most appropriate concept from alternatives.
The various systems considered use standard or variable displacement compressors, cycling clutch orifice tubes (CCOT), thermal expansion valves (TXV), evaporator pressure regulators (EPR), or a refrigerant management valve (RMV).
Quality Function Deployment provides a starting point to select the most appropriate system architecture.
