Abstract
Many progressive manufacturing organizations have had the foresight to create the environment for Simultaneous Engineering, but a catalyst is required to manage the effective progress of concurrent manufacturing and product design development. Simultaneous Engineering Mechanisms serve as the communication vehicles through which the related development activities can coordinate and manage their parallel engineering efforts.
