Abstract
Double Wishbone and Multilink Suspension Mechanisms are analyzed in three dimensional space. A general method of the kinematic synthesis of suspension mechanisms is presented.
Firstly, suspension mechanisms are defined as multiloop spatial guidance mechanisms with a single degree of freedom. Secondly, Displacement, Velocity, and Acceleration matrices are used to describe the mechanism motion with constraint equations developed for each of the suspension links. Finally, the displacement matrices and suspension link constraint equations are used together to either synthesize suspension mechanisms or analyze any synthesized mechanism.
This highly sophisticated computer-aided design technique provides, firstly, a way to synthesize suspension mechanisms in any original design process and. secondly, it can be used in the analysis or evaluation of existing suspension mechanisms using computers in a more efficient manner.
