Abstract
The education of the engineer should reflect the importance of technical management by incorporating specially designed courses in the curriculum.
The paper discusses the author's views on the educational needs in this area and the initiatives underway in the ASME towards the development of a body of knowledge for training and the continuing education of the mechanical engineers.
