Abstract
A comparatively small highly maneuverable carrier has been designed and built with productivity as a key design objective.
Profitable harvesting of small trees in either clear-cut or thinnings applications is dependent on maximizing the number of stems cut and bunched per unit of time.
In the design described in this paper, an attempt has been made to use the efficiency and controllability of hydrostatic drives, together with the economical and selective-function control provided by pressure and flow compensated auxiliary systems to achieve an operator friendly but highly effective machine.
