Abstract
A new family of 8 and 12 speed gear-boxes for trucks from 200 hp and upwards has been introduced.
The gearbox design layout is described briefly and some related design concepts are presented.
A number of different theoretical and experimental methods used during the development work are described with their application to the improvement of e.g. gears, bearings, synchronizers and strength of planet carrier and housing.
