Abstract
There are many ways to test a vehicle cooling system. However, we find few examples where a single vehicle was checked by several methods.
Under the auspices of the U.S. Army, Clark developed a family of earthmoving machinery. To satisfy the several interested groups cooling tests utilizing three different procedures were run on one vehicle. Results are compared.
In addition, supplementary tests listed below are reviewed.
- A. Projecting temperatures to different ambients.
- B. Comparison of water and ethylene glycol coolants.
- C. Effect of viscosity on converter oil temperature.
- D. Converter speed ratio vs. engine torque curve test requirements.
