Study on Calculation and Analysis of Structural Strength of Urban Bus Body in China

Abstract
This paper presents the author's recent studies of structural strength of urban bus bodies with the finite element method. A summary is provided of the principal problems encounted and their solutions in structural strength. It has proved effective in practical design of bus body. The paper also describes two evaluation methods for an- item called Body Carrying Capabality with deformation ratio of body to frame. The evaluation methe ds can be used to properly match the rigidity of body and frame. In the last part of the paper, the author offers computation examples about some kinds of urban bus bodies made in China.
