Abstract
This paper presents an actual AGV assisted assembly system currently under the testing phase at Detroit Deere Company (a joint venture of Detroit Diesel Allison and Deere Company). A system overview with simulation modeling techniques and concepts are explained. The model currently installed on site, has proven to be an invaluable analytical tool to play “what if ?” games and evaluate system performance under different scenarios. The paper further validates the fact that such simulation tools should precede system design.
