Abstract
A combination pressure/temperature piezoresistive sensor has been developed for the automotive industry with an operating temperature of −40°C to +150°C. This sensor provides both pressure and temperature signals to external electronics. The active external electronics are located in an area away from the high temperature of the transmission and engine and therefore not affected by their heat. The sensor is mounted deep inside a transmission for more accurate and responsive pressure and temperature sensing.
