Abstract
This paper presents data developed on compounds of ethylene/acrylic elastomer and fluoroelastomer which were formulated for improved performance in gasketing applications. The information describes the long-term stability of the compressive modulus and other physical properties after aging in hot engine oils. Direct comparison is made throughout to a high performance, commercial silicone rubber compound frequently used in engine rocker cover and oil pan gaskets.
