Abstract
Organic composite-coated steel sheet has been developed to provide corrosion resistance, stamping formability, weldability and ED paintability, required of corrosion-resistant steel sheet for automobile body panels. The four properties are met by applying epoxy paint containing 65 to 75% of metal powders such as zinc, stainless steel and aluminum, onto a zinc-nickel alloy coated steel sheet with chromate coating.
For the commercial use of the organic composite-coated steel sheet, technology has been developed for uniformly applying its conductive organic composite paint and its practical performance has been evaluated with the cooperation of an automobile manufacture.
