JIT Application in the Air Freight Forwarder Industry: A Case Study

Abstract
This paper discusses how the JustlnTime manufacturing concept is applied by a specific air freight forwarder. Air freight fowarders, in the technical sense, are not involved in the traditional concept of JIT. However, they provide the vital link which manufacturers required to ensure that JIT operates. Topics covered include when JIT began in the firm, how it was implemented, problems encountered, financial ramifications, and changes needed to ensure continued success. Recommendations are offered in ensure that JIT operates as expected in the future.
