The paper describes the application to an 11.2ℓ 6 cylinder, D.I. truck Diesel engine of an electronic optimizing control system as part of a major research programme into improving truck Diesel engine performance with respect to
- a) torque back up
- b) part load economy
- c) improved transient response
The parameters under electronic control are:-
- a) turbocharger turbine nozzle ring position
- b) engine governing
- c) injection timing
