Abstract
The paper describes the application of the general-purpose fluid-dynamics program. PHOENICS. to the computation of the flow around automobile body shapes.
The analyses are three-dimensional, solving the full Navier-Stokes equations with turbulence effects represented via a two-equation model. A non-orthogonal grid system is used which is distorted to match the shape of the bodies.
