Abstract
The start of injection and fuel quantity can be optimally suited to a given Diesel engine and its operating conditions by using electronic injection feedback control.
In this way, it is possible to control exhaust emissions, i.e. to reduce the emission of individual pollutants.
An optimization based on an engine map projection for a specific driving cycle helps to accelerate the design process in the engine testing bed under observance of predefined limits; this fact is confirmed by checks on the vehicle as a whole.
