Abstract
Deutz BF8L 513 air-cooled diesel engines are built in two versions for trucks or special vehicles, and for bus application. The air cooling system of these engines can also be adapted for transmission/converter oil coolers, if required. Mechanical-hydraulic or electronical-hydraulic cooling air flow control systems are available to reduce fuel consumption and improve reliability and service life.
The BF8L 513 engines are of the FL 513 family, available as 6-, 8-, 10- and 12-cylinder engines in 90° vee configuration, naturally aspirated, and as 8-, 10- and 12-cylinder engines with exhaust turbocharging with and without charge air cooling.
The cylinder units within this family are identical; the modular construction concept applied allows a high degree of parts commonality.
