Development of Simple Type Engine Analyzer for Automotive Use

Abstract
The development of this Engine Analyzer was made primarily aiming at the following objectives: (a) to satisfy the minimum requirements of adequate diagnostic capability for items indispensable to engine trouble diagnosis so as to improve the quality of maintenance; (b) to promote the simplification and speeding-up of operations yet with a reasonable price so that the Engine Analyzer may be used widely in many service shops; and also (c) to pay special consideration so that diagnostic results and contents of repairs may be readily understood by the customers. This paper deals with the aspects of hardware and software centering around those functional features which have been incorporated to achieve the aforesaid objectives.
