Abstract
Shot peening has been accepted as a routine step in the manufacturing of leaf spring. The compressive residual stresses resulted by shot peening will improve the spring's fatigue life and its stress corrosion resistance as well.
The microstructure in the near surface region is studied for various processing parameters.
