Abstract
The present situation (August 1985) with regard to European legal requirements for automotive exhaust purification is discussed.
Some recent catalyst developments which may be of potential use for applications in Europe are demonstrated. These concern space velocity, higher temperature stability, resistance to poisoning effects and improved oxygen tolerance with three-way catalysts.
