System Identification for Hydraulic System Simulation Based on Component Empirical Data

Abstract
Performance modelling is a method which has recently been developed at the Fluid Power Research Center at Oklahoma State University for hydraulic component and system analysis in industrial applications. The feature of this modelling method is that modularizing the system model from the isolated standarized component models is achieved as the most of other available methods have failed to do so. One of the advantages of the modelling method is that any coeffecient in the model can be acquired thru catalog data if it is available or through experimental data. Therefore, an approach for obtained the coefficients in the model is the key function of performance modelling.
In this paper, the corresponding parameter identification program is used to obtain the unknown parameters in the model from experimental component data for the purpose of simulating a hydraulic system. In association with the Response Function Transform Method (RFTM), proposed in this paper, any dynamic performance curve of a hydraulic component can be fitted by response function in time domain. The RFTM naturally leads to simplifying the communication of a data set between the manufacturer and user.
