Abstract
Cold start-up conditions can have a profound impact on filter design and hydraulic system performance. This paper discusses cold start design considerations and laboratory testing of hydraulic filters and associated components for mobile hydraulic systems. Several developments to enhance filter system performance during short term operation at low oil temperature are reviewed.
