Abstract
The Powermaster external gear pump/motor series offers design improvements which include lower flow ripple (decreased system noise), contamination resistance which equals or exceeds the best available in other designs, retention of high volumetric efficiency at high temperature, suitability for water/oil emulsion and other fire resistant fluids, and materials suitable for underground mining requirements worldwide.
This paper gives the design objectives and how they were met, various designs considered, developmental testing done to prove the chosen design, and details of the established ratings and performance achieved.
