Abstract
The unique ability of sport aircraft designers to develop and test new aircraft rapidly and inexpensively has made their efforts a practical source of design technology. A review of some noteworthy design contributions from sport aircraft of the past and a brief survey of current sport aircraft design trends are used to make some interesting projections about sport and production aircraft of the future.
